    Hello all,

I am having a hell of a time with this laptop. I am trying to replace the MB. This is the 3rd MB from ebay. The first one had issues with the keyboard port. The second one had issues with video out. This one is so close, but I can't seem to get it to stop shorting. I ended up removing the 3 MB screws since the one closest to the video card caused a short. Now I can't get this to run when the Heatsinks are attached.

When I remove all components except for the RAM, CPU and video card. The machine POSTs fine. When I attach the heat sinks, it is a hit and miss whether or not it starts. When it doesn't, it won't register any sort of power.

Even when I do get it to POST with the Heatsinks, the machine eventually stops POSTing as I start to add pieces back. I had it working with the palm rest + the keyboard, but it stopped when I screwed the palm rest and MB in place.

I am using arctic silver on the chip and video card for the paste. I have cleaned both heat sinks and both chips with isopropyl alcohol, but it doesn't seem to matter. I am assuming that this is my 3rd bad MB from ebay, but wanted to post here for opinions.

It this machine as temperamental as it appears to be?l
