Hello, I have a M6700 that is only used for internet, office and photo editing. It's way more laptop than I need (specs below) but I got a great deal on it thru work 2-1/2 years ago and couldn't pass it up.

It's always worked perfectly, but two days ago the screen started flickering on and off like you were flipping a light switch on and off real fast. On advice from a friend I tried a different charger both with and without the battery installed and it's the same. I started it up in safe mode and used a restore point set a week ago and when I re-booed it and switched back to normal mode it was fine, no flickering. But then when I shut it off and started it up again the next day the flickering is back. FYI, the logon screen and in safe mode the screen does not turn on and off. I ran a couple Malwarebytes scans and it found nothing. If you look hard and focus thru the screen turning on and off like a strobe light you can see everything else with the computer works fine when you open and close programs.

I'm not real knowledgeable about computer stuff, but does anyone have any ideas of what's wrong and what I should do?

Try adjusting the screen brightness with the Fn+up/down buttons. Some displays that shipped in the M6700 have a backlight flicker issue that occurs at certain brightness levels but not others.

Thanks for the help Aaron,I tried it, but it didn't fix the issue. I used the word flicker, but it is a full on and off blinking of the screen. Its hard to look at the screen when its doing this, its like a strobe light flashing.
I noticed when I go back to a restore point I'm going back before a Nvidia update, so I think that's the issue. Not sure what to do?
