    Hello!
I have a question about the charger. I got two with the notebook. One is still working without problems, but when i use the other one, in Windows 7 64bit poup a window with following message from DELL FEATURE ENHANCEMENT PACK (i translate it to english):
"The charger which is in use can not be identify. Please use an other 210W charger from dell."
Chraging with this is not possible - Windows shows in the taskbar - no charging but "plugin" and the accu holds the energy the whole time.

    Charger 1 (is working): ADP-240 AB D / CN-0FWCRC-48661-2BT-330U-A02
    Charger 2 (is working): ADP-240 AB D / CN-0FWCRC-48661-2AV-26RI-A02

    Any idea?

    Best regards,
    Moach

Is the central pin on the DC plug missing? This enables the computer to determine the rating of the PSU.

There may be an option in the BIOS to disable PSU warnings but this may not stop the computer refusing to charge when on. If it doesn't know the PSU rating then there is the risk that the connected PSU is under-rated and could be overloaded.

    The central PIN is there.
To disable in BIOS the warnings is to risk for me...

So that mean that the adapter is maybe defect? Because its the same as the other one.....

Check to see if the central pin in both of the adapter plugs in the same. Like John said, that center pin is how the system identifies the power adapter wattage.

I made a picture, so you can see there is a pin in the middle....and as I see, both has the same length and diameter.
Right is the working charger and on the left side the other one.

I tested the charger again, plug in the plug stronger, push they plug from right to the left side...its always the same...

I entered in BIOS to see whats the status is when I use the "broken" one - "Idle" for the charging status and "unknown" are the messages in BIOS.

Is it possible that the program Dell Feature Enhancement has a problem?

If you get the power adapter warning from the BIOS before Windows boots, it is not a problem with DFEP in Windows. If you turn on the machine with the bad adapter plugged in, do you get a warning before Windows starts?

I suspect you have a bad adapter and it will need to be replaced.
