Just picked up a new M6700. It came with 8GB ram (4GB X 2) Was planning on picking up two 8GB sticks to give me 24GB. Any one brand better than another?
Also looking for a SSD. Any one brand better than another. I guy I work with recommends the Corsair Neutron Series GTX.

For memory, make sure that the modules you pick up have the same CL rating as the modules you already have. Some people miss this, if you mis-match the CL ratings you might end up with your system memory stuck at 1333 MHz instead of 1600 MHz. Otherwise, RAM is RAM, buy one that has good reviews online, I use Corsair and it's worked great since day one.

How do I find out what the CL rating is on my current memory? I don't want to pull the keyboard on a new laptop.

Download CPU-Z and take a look at the "Memory" tab. (Ideally, you want all of these numbers to match on the new modules that you buy. It's hard to find the whole specs sometimes, so CL rating should be good enough.)

If you go over to the SPD tab you can see details about each memory module individually.

My Samsung 830 has been running flawlessly for over a year now in my M6600. The M6600 doesn't like sandforce controlled drives for the OS drive and has problems booting. I would stay away from those. Not sure of the M6700 is the same for tastes. The sandforce controller drives are fine for storage though.
