OK, so I bought a M6600 off ebay, one of the factory refurbs. Everything seems to work well except the USB 3.0. I have a USB3 unpowered toshiba canvio basic hdd that refuses to work. The hdd works everywhere else (i.e. my tower at USB 3 and 2 and my other laptop at 3 and 2). The usb 2 works just fine on the M6600 as well. I have tried all the different drivers I can find. I have tried all the ports (usb 2 and 3) none work. When I plug in the drive it is recognized as a UBS 3.0 mass storage device but it always gives me the Code 10 error telling me that it couldn't be started. I have tried deactivating the bluetooth (and removed it).

I am really at a loss and don't want to go through all of that again with a dell service rep. Any thoughts on the problem or how I can pinpoint exactly what is wrong would be appreciated.

    Thanks

When I got my M6500 there was something weird like that - I'm trying to remember... I think I had to enable USB 3 in the BIOS - try looking there for USB settings...
