    Hi Everyone,

Hope you can help me out. I have a M6600 I7 8gb ram nvidia quatro 4000m with the adobe RGB screen, 512ssd. Bios is A07

Just received it the other day and for some reason every time i plug the unit into the power adapter the screen goes black. The system is still on and if I unplug the adapter the screen comes back on. There is no flickering it is either on or off.

One thing also if the adapter is plugged in during a start up the screen flickers on an and off serveral times until just going directly to black.

Hopefully someone might know what is the problem

Did you try to change power plan? Happens the same?

    Hi Leoloni,

I have tried different power plans (Dell, Balance ) and have also used the advance settings so the screen never goes off on plug in.

Since it does screen off and on durring posting and also in the bios i think it is more hardware then software. What are your or any others thoughts?

As a general rule if you can reproduce an issue in the bios it's the hardware (unless it's a bios problem). I see you're on A07 so I would guess hardware.

Although I don't have M6600 (only M4600), I must say there is something flawed with Nvidia Quadro (or BIOS) screen management. I don't have precisely your symptoms, and only sometimes. Sometimes when I wake up the computer from hibernation it does what you described - blinks and then go black (turns the display off). But the funny thing is when I connect external display through HDMI port it works (although attempts to restore primary display with Windows Key+P combination fail). I (usually) am able to turn main diplay on again through NVIDIA Control Panel.
