Thanks for the encouragement. Hopefully someone somewhere finds it useful.

I want to mention two considerations that don’t get said in regards to relocating folders:

    1. When using Windows Backup to create an image – the entire drive that the relocated folders are on is included in the image. There is no way around this design that I know of.
Beyond that, Windows Backup in general and Image Restore work great with the setup.

    2. The drive that the folders are on can’t be removed. The OS and Programs won’t be able to function without them – essentially broken.

Do a "personal" computer need to install Dell data protection and IPT or if they are useful at all?

If a fingerprint reader is present then DDP or some other software is needed - otherwise the hardware will be uninitialized/unidentified/unavailable. I've grown accustomed to the fingerprint reader, though sometimes it's too sensitive when I'm in a hurry.
Other than device manager reporting it unoperational - don't think anything else is dependent on it.

IPT: I can't comment because I've never accessed it.

Both don't take much space if that's a concern and aren't intrusive anywhere else.

I've added additional drivers to Resources (post #3 bottom), Newer, Older and Other for W7 64. Resources post contains all the links from the Guide and Solutions plus more - all in one place. And, cleaned up or tried to clarify a few things, nothing drastic I hope.
Seems the Drivers selection at Dell isn't getting much better and some are now for W8 when requesting W7 versions so hopefully this update is helpful and saves some time.

Best way to approach the guide is to read through at least once, print and markup if needed, then go down the list and strikethrough when completed. If not printed then copy into a notepad file so it's easily accessible in most places during the process.

Also, I've been working on priorities and haven't spent much time in the threads. As always, if something here is broken or needs amending let me know. I still recieve instant updates for this thread and daily updates for M6600 and M6700 threads or can be sent a PM message.

    Have a safe holidays.

    :)

Addendum: I've also added a direct FTP link to the end of the driver names so that there's no reason to leave NBR or open a tab if it is known what is needed. There are a few more older drivers and preference apps to add when I have the time.
