    Hi
I am very interested in this laptop. Perhaps, I will order one in the next time.
I am planing to upgrade the RAM by buying SO-DIMMs and install them by my own. But I can only suggest, that normal SO-DIMMs are used in that notebook, I can't find a specification on that. So, will, for example, these RAMs fit in the M6600: Corsair SO-DIMM 8 GB DDR3-1333 Kit (204-Pin, Serial: CMSO8GX3M2A1333C9) http://www.alternate.de/html/product/Corsair/SO-DIMM_8_GB_DDR3-1333_Kit/731644/? (German Store) ?

There is only 1 kind of laptop memory and for DDR3, it's the 204-pin DIMMs. So yes, your RAM will probably work.

    If I purchase the M6600 with 2x4Go RAM 1333, will I be able to upgrade with a 16Go (4x4) 1600Mhz?

I mean, whatever the base order, is there always 4 dimms allowing 1600mhz RAM?

Only if you go with a quad-core CPU.

Am I able to put the 16GB 4x4 1333MHz RAM (Dell equipped) out of my M6500 and into the M6600?

what are the temps like? im hoping with the new dual fan design for both the 15 and 17 inch models it will be cool. really quite jealous of the thinkpad W520 because of its silence and cool temps.

i've got a M4600 on the way from dell (as a replacement) but tempted to sell it and get a M6600 or W520 instead

I've posted a few temps back along.

On average CPU is around 40 degrees c

Playing Crysis on Ultra settings 60-70 degrees c

The fact the fans are on the rear make the M6600 quieter than the W520 for the user and at heavy load the M6600 is significantly quieter.

The 17" Precision's have had dual fans for 3 generations now starting with the M6400. :) Nothing new here.

was referring mainly to the 15" ;) sorry i wasnt clear..i meant dual fans for both i.e the 15 inch being the new one

i should have been a bit more specific on the temps...what i'm curious to find out is if i'm not doing anything heavy, i.e. skype videocall, excel, word if it remains cool to the touch on your lap. i've noticed the W520 and my X201 remain cool to the touch even if i use it in bed for these things, so that was one thing that made life uncomfortable with the M4400 i had

    Hi Tom,

Can you confirm if M6600(w/ ATI M8900) supports audio via:

    1. built-in HDMI
    2. built-in DisplayPort (Is this DisplayPort Plus or just plain ol DisplayPort?)
    3. E-Port Plus DisplayPort Plus

Also, may be havoctex can answer the same questions for M6600 w/ Nvidia 3000M and 4000M???

    Thanks!
