M6700 it actually depends which battery you have. With the 97 Whr you get express, standard, "primarily AC use" (which I use), and a custom setting to change the different limits. With the 87 Whr "long life" battery, you get fewer options. (Might be the same on the M6600.)

Just to let you folks know. Dell restored my faith in them today. Remember I had a crack in my Palmrest and they said it was accidental damage, of which I emphatically said it was no such thing. I had the Customer Services call me and they decided to offer me a new palmrest if I fitted it myself. I was more than happy to agree as I would prefer to do the work myself. It arrived promptly by UPS today. Result :) Thank you Dell...

I have 97 Whr Battery and 240W PS with only Express and Standard charging options.

It's going to take a chip and circuit to control for that and we don't have it.

    Badger,

Glad to hear they took care of you.

That doesn't do much in my opinion, if you're on TKIP, it would be safer to switch to AES encryption instead. That said, there are probably some corporations using TKIP for w/e reason.

I guess it's that time of the quarter, yet a couple more drivers:

They are after all just LAN components.

Intel LAN Network {A08} (NNGMH), DRVR_Network_Intel_A08-NNGMH_setup_ZPE.exe

    Intel LAN DMIX {A09} (YMH42), DIAG_Network_Intel_A09_x64-YMH42_setup_ZPE.exe

    ----------------------------

    Re Tijo:

Yeah, but since I complained (in the post) about the hotspot assistant nag for the last one - they wouldn't say fixed the hotspot nag or any other small fixes.
They do mean something to someone somewhere someway. I just post em' up.
And in this case I included the details. The last one had quite a few enhancements that weren't detailed at Dell.

    Edit,

So if you didn't install the WiFi driver I posted a couple days ago why choose that one now over this new one that fixes something that was broken?.
Of course a person is free to install the one that has the broken item even if it's irrelevant to them.

Everything seems to be working fine...do you think it is important to install this update?

Good point, even if you don't need the fix, might as well not leave things broken. I simply wanted to point out the inadequacy of TKIP for securing a network (which isn't related to the driver update, seeing it in the release notes just made it pop into my mind and I'm sorta paranoid about network security), I didn't in any way mean that installing the new driver was useless. Sorry if I wasn't clear before.

    Hi Kallias,

I don't think any of the ones I've posted recently are very important - unless you're experiencing some issue that you want to try and stop.
When I check in over there at Dell and see some new ones I'll post them here. If I think it is really worth it I'll let you know like with DDPA A09 for instance.
For these though I've only installed WiFi (not the second one) and it didn't help with my mouse interference, go figure.
In other words if all is running great - leave it be.

    EDIT------------------------------------------------------

    @tijo

Yeah, most of us here just use basic WEP I'd presume. I have a 6 year old WiFi Router on Cable still. I know very little - to nothing about TKIP or even beyond basic home stuff.
For home I set: No broadcasting of SSID, 64 or 128 bit WEP, strong password my wireless admin access, and then add wireless MAC filtering to allow only specific machines permission. Seems good enough, maybe not with Google vans running around snooping.

I've gotten pretty good at maneuvering the drivers selector over there at Dell (easier now than using vBulletin BBCode). We've had so many updates and then add in W8. I keep a running history list of the most common for W7 64 and try to sort it out (Dells' muck) and pass them along if someone else hasn't already. If I try them and think they really add/fix something I'll say so, otherwise we all have to wait for someone else to give feedback. Most shouldn't be an issue though.

However, I still use a video driver from early 2012, so yeah if everything is running great leave it alone. Wait for something to go wrong or is wrong or the need to reimage after you've made it go wrong then install the newer drivers for the little fixes and enhancements.
