    Hey Sir.

Are there any plans to enable manual switching in the BIOS to the Intel card or is there a hardware limitation?

With the NVIDIA GFX cards there is a BIOS switch that allows the user to enable Optimus and to turn it off. This switch is not on AMD systems and also not on the M4600 with the IPS RGB panel.

If you can tell me, any particular reason for that? Will it be enabled in a future BIOS? At the very least, the M4600 w/ NVIDIA card and IPS RGB panel will still have Optimus, right?

Can anyone tell me if it is better to take the backlit keyboard instead of the standard one?

I had heard some issue regarding backlit keyboards.

When would M6600 get 5010M and IPS? As of now, IPS option is only available for the M4600.

Does anyone know if there is an after-market IPS screen that could fit the M6600 and where to find possible matches?

One of the most important questions at this point, IMHO. Havoctex is probably under NDA.

Not yet and not in the nearest future. The only two systems in the 17" category with a 1080p IPS RGB LED are the M6600 (not yet) and HP8760w. Both Dell and HP most likely have a "special" arrangement with the screen manufacturer and have a limited supply of these panels, same way it was with HP8740w and 8540w. The panels never made it to screen resellers.

    Hi havoctex,

Can you address the question with regards to Nvidia cards and E-Port Plus DisplayPort?

    Thanks,

The dock is basically a pass through of the ports on the system. It should work on the dock also.

I was considering W520 and M6600 but I couldn't wait any longer so I had to buy W520 (also I am a ThinkPad fan). After some usage and issues, I am little sad, because the M6600 looks like a much better option. These temperatures you posted are like a dream compared to W520.

BTW is there any utility like TPfancontrol for DELL?

And how many drives you can put into M6600? 2x 2.5" standard + 1x 2.5" to optical bay?
