    I just picked up a new to me M6600, I-7 i7-2960XM 16gb
I would like to bump it up to 32GB.
What would you recommend for memory DDR3-1333 or DDR3-1600
What are teh better memory brands?

Software used is Adobe Suite, Corel X17, audio recording and some video editting software.

    Thanks Gary

    Maybe this answers my question.....

If your computer was shipped with an Intel Core i7 Quad Core or i7 Quad Extreme processor, the maximum memory is 32GB, configured by inserting 8GB memory modules into the two DIMM slots underneath the keyboard and the two DIMM slots in the bottom of your computer.

[IMG]Note:For 2 DIMM configurations, use only the bottom memory slots.

    Allowed memory configurations
    Total Memory
Number of Modules Frequency and Speed
    2GB DIMM DDR3-1333MHz
    4GB DIMM DDR3-1333MHz
    8GB DIMM DDR3-1333MHz
    8GB DIMM DDR3-1333MHz
    16GB DIMM DDR3-1333MHz
    16GB DIMM DDR3-1333MHz
    32GB DIMM DDR3-1333MHz
    4GB DIMM DDR3-1600MHz
    8GB DIMM DDR3-1600MHz
    16GB DIMM DDR3-1600MHz

Although the Intel Specifies that this processor can work with 1333 or 1600 memory

    I replaced the 4x 4GB 1333's with 4x8GB 1600. The difference was quite noticeable

I have the 4600 and replaced the 8gb 1333mhz stick with four sticks of 8gb 1600mhz and everything is fine. If you mix 1333mhz and 1600mhz, it will work fine but BIOS shows all sticks as 1333mhz.
