Got my M6600 a couple of weeks ago, installed SSD and re-installed Windows.

Today's the first time I tried to use the integrated SD Card Reader.
However it isn't functional at all. (Nothing happens when I insert an SD Card, no new drives appear in Explorer.)

Am I still missing a driver (which one)?
When re-installing Windows I roughly followed Precision M6600 guide for new owners - Re-install OS, remove/replace HDD, etc. [will be updated]
Just now I installed the O2Micro-Driver (DRVR_WIN_R300787.EXE), rebooted, but still no luck.

I'll assume you're running Win7 64bit. If that's true that should be the correct driver. Do you have the "O2Micro Integrated MMC/SD controller" & "O2Micro Integrated MS/MSPRO/xD" under Storage Controllers in Device Manager?

If yes, have you tried a different storage card? Does this storage card work on another device?

If no, are you running a power plan that has PCI Express Links State Power Management enabled? The card reader is connected to a PCI Express port which is why I ask.

    Thanks a million!

Obviously I didn't know really what I was doing when I disabled the Express Card in the BIOS (Miscellaneous Devices) together with Firewire and eSata.

After turning it on again (and temporarily switching from "Fast Boot" to "Thourough") it's working fine now!

glad to see it works again!

Just another hint: be aware of your power plans. some power plans deactivate the SD-card slot.
