M6400 Webcam Quality?

    Hello all,

    I know it's a big ask but can someone please comment on their M6400's webcam?

    What's the quality like? Smooth frames per second?
    Also if there's any chance to upload a little test video I'd be most grateful.

    Okish, but not great TBH. It is handy to have, but if you need a decent quality webcam you'll have to buy one seperately.

    Much better than the one in the 7811 Gateway series. Smoother, better quality IMHO. Unless you need crystal clear quality, it should get the job done.

    I get many comments about the great quality of my video whenever I skype from my M6400. I definitely don't think that a second webcam is needed.

    That's good to hear. So it does ok in low light as well? I'm just thinking mainly for Skype / a little bit of video capture for animation ref when I need it.

    As long as it does 640x480 30fps I'm sure it'll be fine. Does that sound about right?

    That's what I would say...it's better than expected, fine for video conferencing...but not for taking shapshots, etc...but, it's fine for all I use it for. I'm assuming my m4400 has the same .3mp webcam of the 6400..haven't checked.

    EDIT: with .3mp, there won't be much 'lag'...haven't seen any of significance :D

    Does the system come with webcam software? I couldn't see any on my 6400 other than generic webcam

    .3MP? what's that? 640x480 res?

    It should do at least that I would have thought?
