Maybe there's other posts with the fix to this but my M6400 Covet won't pass through audio from the mic in to the headphone out jack. IDT drivers installed or uninstalled, either way doesn't seem to matter. Anyone else try this??

Noticed that an SPDIF output is listed on there, which apparently is the DisplayPort running to the UltraSharp 1908FP external monitor, which has no headphone jacks. It does have an "AUDIO DC 12V" port? Which must be for one of those sound bar things?

Also has a "Rec. Playback" codec listed, which is greyed out as "Currently unavailable". In any case this isn't putting out sound from the mic in source & I can't figure it out.

    Any help appreciated.

I don't have my machine to hand, but I was having mic output problems on Xp32. I dual-booted to Vista 64 and all is fine.

I'll take a look at the "rec playback" codec later to see what is listed for me, but I don't recall seeing "not available" - Whenever I speak I have the level bars move which suggests all is well.

I think it may have something to do with using the external monitor? Like it thinks I want audio from the DisplayPort instead of from the Headphone jack. How can I tell it one way from another?

Sound actually works in Windows, but when I switch the monitor from DVI to the analog input to play the other source, audio is gone..
