Ok, I got it off cleanly.

This sticker (the one saying "regulatory information...." in 50 languages)
would NOT come off by trying to pick at the corners. It was leaving the sticky part on.
When I pulled at the "tab" built into the sticker, I got that off but it left the whole rectangle sticky part on the laptop. In other words, the whole printed part of the sticker came off leaving all the clear sticky material on the palm rest still.

I kept picking at the corners trying to grab them but no luck.

What finally worked was sliding my fingers while pushing on the surface of the palmrest, upward, into the bottom of the sticker. In other words, press your finger on the plastic of the laptop just below the sticky stuff left behind. Keep sliding your finger while pushing on the plastic INTO the bottom line of the sticky part. It will eventually start to roll up. Do this all along the bottom edge of the sticky part and eventually you can grab the "rolled up edge" and pull at it. It should then pull off in one piece. There will be little tiny sticky marks left on the plastic but they come right up when you place the sticky rectangle piece down onto it and pull fast up.

    Hope this all makes sense.

Well, Ive read a lot of people having the same problem I was not knowing how to get it off and using liquid "goo" removers and stuff so I thought this may help some of them.

no, its a large sticker that says a statement and then has it printed out in 4 or 5 languages. It has a tab to pull it off but the sticky part stays on the laptop.

I had the same issue, and I have always had this problem with all the stickers on any laptop I ever bought. I just wish they would leave that crap off of my brand-new laptop... :(

Anyway, my solution is Goo-Gone. Works fine, and I have never had it damage the finish. YMMV, however, so be careful and don't get the stuff anywhere else.

I've had the exact same problem.
I think I've spend around half an hour just to get a stupid sticker off.

Anyway, the build quality of this laptop makes me happy.

I finally got around to peeling the big ol' sticker off of my Covet. I had no trouble...it came off in one piece and it left no residue behind. Guess I got lucky. Yeah!

We got 2 M6400's and both of them had the same sticker problem. At first I tried using 3m adhesive remover and for some reason it did nothing. Our Printer repair guy had left a bottle of Isopropyl alcohol behind, so I gave that a try, and sure enough it came off with in a second.

Alcohol will certainly break down the sticky stuff on stickers but I do NOT recommend this on laptops. Alcohol will take off paint and damage plastics DEPENDING on the paint used and the plastic type. Im not trying to offend you rootberg, so sorry, but while it may have not done any harm to the m6400 this should NOT be what everyone uses on their plastic on the laptops or any painted surface cause it WILL definately take off paint on many surfaces. As A rule I would use goo gone or vegetable oil if you want to use a liquid. Both are oily but can be cleaned off and will be less likely to damage things.
