I think they should be ~ the same.I know that Dell has a mindblowing screen and guys from macworld reported that MBP also has great screen! But I wouldn't go with M6400 since it has lots of problems!

It doesnt have that many problems actually. I suggest that you browse through the m6400's owner's lounge you will find a few being mentionned but they do not seem to be repetitive. Try also to read some of the several threads that have m6400 on their titles where people have reported individual problems.

One big concern of many people is the quality of the RGB screen. There is a thread about it. I highly recommend reading it since it provides excellent information concerning screens in general and RGB ones in particular.
There it is explained why RGB "seem" to have a problem now and why at the same time they are among the best screens offered today. On the other hand I do not know how serious this problem is because it doesnt bother me a lot (if we admit it is generalised).

Lastly there are also people complaining about the current Apple screen... So try to read around in order to get for yourself a general idea.

By the way, the M6400 RGB screen supports 100% of the Adobe color gamut and the Apple supports 72%, the same as the Lenovo W700.

This thread is very confusion, because some people complaining about the non RGB screen (like the tread-starter) and than other talking about the benefits of the RGB-LED-screen. So some comments about the RGB-Screen are from people who never saw one in person..

I had both screens (LG WUXGA CCFL, and Samsung WUXGA RGB LED x 2) all of which I returned. The RGB LED screens were over saturated (blue), and you won't be able to get much support from Dell. Some ppl have vouched calibrating them with a Spyder Pro 3 will fix it, but I personally think that the displays should have been calibrated before they are shipped like the Macbooks. So when buying the LED, it is suggested also getting the USD150ish Spyder Pro 3, but I cannot guarantee it will work.

    Also avoid the CCFL.
