I wish Dell had done better QC before releasing this model. Seems to cause many a lot of grief. I have an Outlet one that was delivered today at my house, and is waiting for me. I am already feeling a bit nervous about how it's going to perform. Thank goodness I have 21 days to send it back!

I just need something that works...but don't we all.

Looks like I have a similar issue. Using SolidWorks CAD, initially a washed out SolidWorks screen with a driver message warning to do with 'nviddmkm' then 5-10 minutes later "The NVidia open G/L drive encountered an unrecoverable error and must close this application - error 13".

The machine is new (10days) with a minimum of other software loaded. SW crashed five times with increasing frequency in the last 12 hours. The model is very simple and I don't believe that I'm doing anything complicated to tax the video card. At a guess it would appear to be basic stability/compatibility ?

Have you been able to resolve the problem? On reciept of the machine I setup Vista over the original XP 64 Bit and ran the prescribed sequence of driver load. Dont know if I should do this again? Takes hours to reinstall the software.

    Any recommendations appreciated.

    Hi

Your FX2700M has 512 MB dedicated Memory, SolidWorks will use all of it and it will also use System Memory over Turbo Cache, Maybe System Memory or GraphicCard Memory issues

Run Diagnostics (you can Download the newest version from Dells Driver page and make a bootable CD with it)

    regards

I have been reading about the SSD problems with stuttering or freezing.
Apparently this is a major issue with some of the Solid State Disks.

You may want to look into this.
What make is your SSD and where did you get it? From Dell?
