It's also listed for my E6400 and, I suspect, all the new Latitude / Precision family.

So, does this resolve the audio stuttering issue? I see that this one now supports the Dell WLAN adapters, meaning that the software is now potentially useful ;)

Nope - audio still stutters, and, oddly, it doesn't let me control anything to do with the WLAN either!

Ahh, great piece of software...

I wish they'd just updated/adapted their old QuickSet software. Nothing fancy at all, but it worked, more or less, anyway. At least it didn't bog down the system.

Big +1 to that. The main problem that I have with the conneciton point software is that sometimes on resume from sleep/hibernate it takes up 100% of one of my CPUs..so I kill it - but then all the pad buttons etc resort to their original functions.

I just installed the connection manager on my current Covet (which is going back soon), and it seems it did not cause the dreaded stuttering (well, it did cause a couple of blue screens instead, but that's anothert story...). It also looks like it controls the networks it is supposed to control just fine. Note, however, that this will not work if you have an Intel WLAN adapter. You might also want to take a look at the Readme file in the installation folder. Lots of known issues mentioned there.. :(

Come on Dell, how long will it take for you to get your act together on this? The connection manager was shipped with machines as far back as 6 months ago, and it has never fully worked so far

Ah - good point. I have the Intel 5100AGN.

I don't have any of the Dell ControlPoint software installed anymore and couldn't be happier. I had to complete a full delete/install to properly get rid of it.

I tried to uninstall it - and it wouldn't go... :( Not going to reinstall the OS just for that pile of poop though.
