Whenever I put a Sony Memory Stick into the built in reader in my M6400, it asks if I want to format it. The same memory stick opens fine in my Dell M90. I've already updated the Ricoh Chipset drivers for the reader. Anybody else have a solution?

Does it ask to "format" or just to "scan"?

Sorry where did you put a sony memory stick in? does it fit somewhere else besides the SD slot? Just cos I have an old ish cybershot and could not find anywhere on the m6400 to stick the card. I also have a newer cyber shot with a different shaped memory stick- same problem, i figured that it just wasnt compatable. Did I miss something

It asks specifically that the memory stick is not formatted, do I want to format it now.

The memory stick fits in the SD slot (its a 5-1 reader). But if you use a memory stick duo, you need the standard sized memory stick adaptor that comes included with the memory stick duo.
