    Hi guys,

is it already possible to order a normal M6400 with the LED panel?

After asking the dell order hotline I only got the answer that it's not available and they also don't know when it will be released - it also could be an error in the dell system like they told me.

So, any of you has an idea?

Bluesman - I think you may be asking about the RGB LED, as the "normal" M6400 is already available with two different LED panels listed:
17" UltraSharp™ Wide Screen WXGA+ (1440x900) LCD Display [Included in Price]
17" UltraSharp™ Wide Screen WUXGA (1920x1200) LCD Display [add $159]

That said, I can verify that the RGB LED is not yet available for the "normal" M6400 (at least not in the US). Hopefully soon because I am looking to purchase one as soon as it comes out.

So what's the difference between the RGB LED Edge to Edge and the Standard 17" UltraSharp™ Wide Screen WUXGA (1920x1200) LCD Display

    Is it worth the price?

The RGB LED displays 100% of the Adobe color gamut whereas the WUXGA LCD only displays approximately 40% of the Adobe color gamut. This is important if you will be doing graphics work that must be accurate.

PerComp, are you sure that the Displays on the non-Covet M6400 are LED and not CCFL?

Sorry about that, my mistake. The displays currently available are indeed CCFL as opposed to LED. Thanks toaddodger!

I was hoping you were right. ;)

I'm still sitting here waiting for the price on the Covet to come down a bit just for the LED screen. If the non-Covet had an LED, even if it wasn't the RGBLED, I'd probably jump. Especially if it was matte instead of glossy.

I can't justify the expense of the Covet, so here I am waiting for the RGB for the non-Covet. Maybe by Christmas?!?!
