I was looking over the specs for the M6400 and noticed that it was based on the desktop Intel Q43 chipset. I looked at the chipset specs here:

    http://ark.intel.com/products/36526/Intel-82Q43-Graphics-and-Memory-Controller-Hub

and noticed that the Q43 is supposed to have integrated graphics. Has anyone ever tried running an M6400 without a dedicated GPU? I know it's possible with the M6600, but I've never heard of anyone doing it with the M6400.

The capability is there in the chipset, but it's not used by the laptop (i.e. the chipset GPU is not connected to the display).
