Hey! I'm not alone! I thought it was the dock as well.. however Dell support was pretty adamant that it was the video card drivers.

What is really weird is that my first M6400 Covet (A00 bios) only did this crazy screen problem every now and then.. or after the computer had sat for a few hours or days. Seemingly random. They sent me a brand new M6400 (A01 bios) and now it does it 100% every single time.

I received my second M6400 before A01 Bios released. I am running A01 now and haven't noticed any improvements.

It still doesn't happen all the time for me. When it does happen I can usually toggle between the laptop display and external display to make it go away. I've also found that keeping my second monitor turned off during power up usually helps. If both monitors on it will happen almost everytime. When it does this it will usually happen on one monitor.

I was actually on planning on buy two of the new 30" lcd's, but not until I get this resolved.

    Indirectly related to this thread...
Anyone know when larger than 30 inch monitors with 2560 x 1600 can be expected? Thanks.

    hi,
I have the same problems. I have changed the drivers, the OS the cables. but nothing helped.
The problem is not permanent. At the moment it occurs not so often....

Same problem here. M6400 3700 Videocard. Running XP.
Two ACER AL2216W monitors. (Both Connected via DVI)
Dock Laptop on an EPort/Plus and startup.
Second monitor always goes weirdo, very grainy, color messed up.
It will usually go black also and sometimes say Input Not Supported on Monitor.
I always just go ahead and login, go to Nvidia Control Panel and switch to one monitor, accept changes and then switch it back to 2 monitors and it will work fine after that until next day when I startup again.

I also have the Black Screen problem that alot of people have had when running graphics intensive apps..

I am running 2 external monitors via the E Port.

They are both Iiyama 26" monitors, running 1920x1200.

One is connected via DVI and the other via the VGA cable. I am using an M6400 with an FX2700m. I am having no problems at all.

    Hope that is useful.

Most problems seem to be related to the FX3700m Card..

Hmm.. yeah I still can't get this fixed. I am running FX3700m and dual displays via DVI. I wonder if switching over to that new video port thing will help?

Are you talking about the E-port. .
if so, then no, that won't fix the problem.
