Hey guys was given a replacement 6400 and immediately when I booted it up knew there was something quirky about the color and resolution. My pictures didn't look right and dvd playback was extremely grainy and blotchy. So I looked it up and found this board as a result and realized that some of us had this issue...but I didn't find a solution.

    Some suggested using spyder3
Some said it was a result of the ccfl
Some said that the ATI card didn't have that issue

So after updating all the nvidia drivers and bios I still had the grainy...and blotchy picture. It wasn't as bad on animated movies but regular films still had the blotchiness.

The replacement 6400 had 4 gigs of ram . XP 32 bit. The ccfl screen. We've contacted Dell about this issue, but the tech I talked to said that unless there was a "technical" issue he couldn't help and for me to call customer care if I didn't like it.

I realize a lot of you use the 6400 and I didn't know whether to send this back or if there was an answer/solution to the off color (yellow/green).

Is your screen CCFL or RGBLED ?

You can mess around wih the colors using the NVidia color panel.

I never had the blotchiness issue, though colors were a bit off which I mostly fixed by paying around with the Nvidia color panel.

Yeah I believe I have the ccfl screen. I'll take some pictures to let you guys see what's going on. But when I run Belarc Adviser the only description that it gives on the monitor is "LGD" screen...which I'm assuming is the LG screen.

I've adjusted the colors and have it kinda dialed in, but jpgs just dont seem to render correctly at all.

My images look like this picture

Have you checked if your screen is set at 60hz?
