    Hi guys,

i have a question. It's kind of annoying to always set the brightness settings every time I start up the notebook or wake it up from standby.

I already looked at the bios, there are settings to change the brightness depending of either without ac-adapter or with one. I guess they work but as soon as I am in vista the brightness slider is again at 100%.

In the dell control panel there's also an option for brightness but setting this to my favorite setting doesn't change it either.

    Any ideas?

Is your auto brightness setting checked? (the ambient light sensor)?
That will make it change automatically.

Function - left arrow toggles that on or off.

    Just an idea

Was doing it to me too, had to deactivate it, went especially weird during games.

Well, I set them in the bios and I there they work. But as soon as vista starts or gets back from standby the screens lights up with 100%.

    I've experienced the same behavior.

I found that if you set it in the DCP->Power Manager it will be remembered. I had to create my own profile in order to edit the setting.
