    Hello guys,

Just got my M4800 and I'd like to have a raid 1 setting on it. For what I see in the M4700 configration it requires one of the two disks to be on msata position in order to run raid 1, does 4800 have the same kind of requirement or can I just use the two sata ports to install the hdds and set them on raid 1 in BIOS? Since I've no experience on raid stuff, any help will be appreciated!
    Thanks!

I was wondering too. If one were to install a drive in the standard 2.5" bay and then one using the disk drive caddy, could you raid them?

Considering I can do raid 1 like this on my E6410, I am pretty sure you can. Unfortunately I returned my M4800 so I can't confirm.

M4700 can have a RAID array that includes a disk in the optical drive bay. Don't see why M4800 couldn't.

Actually I dont want to compromise the optical drive so can I raid on the two normal sata's?

    The M4800 supports three drives.

    mSATA
    HDD
    Optical bay

Without mSATA, how would you raid two drives by keeping the optical drive? You would need an mSATA drive to raid with.

    The M6800 has two.

You can raid msata and the hdd.
