Hell yeah!!! This is epic. Can't wait for mine to arrive, it's currently on its way. So glad to hear that this works. Now we gotta wait for someone to eventually try that A2000 card when it releases.

    Hello guys,

I bought a 512GB Lexar SD card. I plugged it into M4800's SD card slot but M4800 can't read it.
The card is working fine on other machines.
    What should I do?
I have installed smart card driver from Dell website but it fixes nothing.
    I'm on Windows 10 64bit, A26 Bios.

    Please help. :(

not the smartcard reader, that's related to the daughter board underneath the touchpad
Use this O2 micro memory driver:
    https://www.dell.com/support/home/e...roductcode=precision-m4800-workstation&lwp=rt

Now I don't use mine because it is not very stable, I rather use my external reader.
It will lock up time to time and a reboot is needed and partitions can become corrupted if something would happen during write operations

    Thanks,

I've already installed the driver but it didn't work.
Actually, this is the first time using the SD card slot.
My M4800 was manufactured in 2016. I bought it in 2019 as brand new.
It looks like SD card slot died due to aging problem...

I decided to use SD card to USB adapter instead.

btw, is Intel AX200 WiFi 6 the best wi-fi card that can be used on M4800? I see that it supports Bluetooth 5.0

What's the fastest wifi card that works on M4800?

I wouldn't mess with that, there is killer wifi etc but those use another antenna connector, meaning you would either have to change the antennas or install an adaptor for the smaller connectors and tuck them in somewhere.

I use 7260hmw in my m4800's because they have the same connectors as the original card had.

The AX200 is using a m.2 slot. Not the same as in the M4800 that using mini-pcie.
However there is one vendor that has the AX200 on a mini-pcie slot, but uses different antenna connectors, M4800 comes with u.fl connectors while all new including the AX200 uses MHF4 connectors.

That daughter board is expensive, impossible to find one new.
I bought one but discovered that the sound ports didn't work, the sd card slot worked better so it was a waste of money

    I understand.

Is it possible to use mSATA mini in the wifi card slot?
    It looks similar:

This mSATA mini can have up to 256GB:
    https://www.amazon.com/256GB-mSATA-...1_6?keywords=msata+mini&qid=1638707504&sr=8-6

    There's a 512GB mSATA mini card too:
    https://www.amazon.com/KingSpec-512...21?keywords=msata+mini&qid=1638707743&sr=8-21

I've been using a USB wi-fi adapter so I may not use internal wi-fi card again.

It looks like some Dell series can use mSATA in wifi card slot!
"Latitude E6x40 and 7xx0 have combo mini PCIe/mSATA/USB slots that support mSATA SSDs."

No. The slots are physically compatible, but use a different interface for communication. The Wi-Fi card slot is not hooked up to the system's SATA controller.
