    Hi All,

Just to confirm I have upgraded my Dell m4600 to 1920 x 1080 with touch screen!, this was originally a 1366 x 768 with Touchscreen.

    I bought the AUO B156HW01 V7 glossy.

On disassemble of bezel and screen it became apparent that the screen was thinner as it came without the digitizer overlay glass, all the brackets on the lid are for the touch screen, so I then thought, wonder if the touch screen with work with the higher resolution like on the XPS, well it does, I carefully unpicked the tape holding the digitizer glass screen from my original screen, you need to run a sharp knife round the digitizer glass seal (keeping the seal on the glass. I then attached it to the new AUO B156HW01 V7 screen and then attached all the brackets, All fitted perfectly and the screen id amazing, plus and I have not read anyone else doing this I now have the touchscreen as well! Works like a dream

    Hi!
First of all, thank you for share your experience and success. Since your post, I am in the intention of make the same mod, since I would really like to have a touchscreen for my m4600. In my case, I ordered my m4600 used, and it came with the IPS 1080px lcd-matte screen, so, I wonder and hope if the connector from the m4600 mobo body to the Screen Body would be the same for all models (so I wonder if the connector of the all m4600s have the pinouts that allows Touchscreens install or (hope not) may be some different in the motherboards of a touchscreen and not touchscreen models...)

Additionally, I would be very gratefull if you may remember and could please share some more comments about as:

1)About the remove of the touchscreen glass digitizer from the old 1366 x 768 lcd, you talk about CUT the sealing tape around the border of the 2 glasses (Digitizer+1366x768LCD), and later leave touchscreen glass digitizer dont remove the remains of tape over the borders of the separate touchscreen glass digitizer.

    2) When the touchscreen glass digitizer removed it came with a separate cable that need to be connected, fixed or attached someway in the 1080px new lcd, and in such case where is located the connector where teh touchscreen glass digitizer cable is connected (in the proper new lcd 1080px or in some board or connector in the frame/cover of the screen assembly of the M4600).

    3) After joint of touchscreen glass digitizer+1080pxNewLCD, did you wrap another tape around border? or simply mount both glasses (touchscreen glass digitizer+1080pxNewLCD) and simply fix both with frame assembling.

Well, this are some doubts that I am wonder, so again thank you very much for your original post.
    Best regards
