So I upgraded from a 2008 nvidia F880 driver to the most current one and now when my computer comes out of the screen saver or hibernate, the screen flickers pretty violently. It gradually fades away to just a light flicker and only seems to be in the horizontal middle 2/3 of the screen. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling the driver as well as a clean install, to no avail. The reason I updated the driver is because the windows kernel mode driver was crashing and recovering and it was annoying.

Any ideas? I have done the Dell screen test (reboot with power+d) and the screen physically seems fine, but there seems to be some kind of conflict.

    Thanks,
    Jesse

Correction, it is ok after hibernating, but not after an extended screen saver.

Dell will replace the mobo and graphics adapter sometime soon, I'll keep y'all updated...not that anyone cares.

Good luck. I had a similar issue (minus hibernation), after a few mobo and graphics replacements (5), and four or five phones to pester Dell about getting a replacement if they can't fix my M4500 correctly (about 3 hours on the phone total), I finally got a replacement M4600.

It's amazing how they can infinitely replace the same parts without a second thought, but if they hear "replacement" they do what they can to make this process as difficult as possible, including "forgetting".

Yeah, they did the first mobo replacement yesterday (didn't work) and now they're going to try the LCD inverter.
