    Hello,

I have a M4400 with a [email protected] that runs at 2.8Ghz under Ubuntu but at 2.66Ghz under Windows XP x64. Although the CPU is detected by CPUID as [email protected] it appears with a x10 multiplier running at 2.66Ghz. RMClock report also x10 maximum multiplier (instead of the expected x10.5). It's only 133Mhz but these are MY 133Mhz :-D

Another thing that is really strange is that under Device Manager there is no processor(s) device(s). Instead I get two Unknown devices with "Device Instance Id" of "ACPI\GENUINEINTEL_-_EM64T_FAMILY_6_MODEL_23\_0" and the same finished in "_1" for the other, which seems like undetected processors. I have installed the drivers in the order that Dell Support indicates, and the chipset driver seems to be correctly installed.

    Any clue?

    Regards

RMClock can't handle the half multipliers, so if you are running RMClock then that's the probable cause of your problem.

Turn off RMClock, run CPU-Z, fully load the CPU and check what CPU speed is reported by CPU-Z.
