When my Precision M4400 goes to sleep after I close the lid, it sometimes turns itself back on without opening the lid back up (it gets rather hot and the fan is running by the time I go to use the computer again, however, I believe the screen stays off). This has really started to bother me lately as the heat cannot be good for the computer and I always have to turn the computer off by holding the power button after it does this because the screen won't turn back on.
My computer works perfectly aside from this issue so does anybody know how to prevent it from doing this?
Thanks in advance for the help!

This isn't a very helpful reply - but still....on my previous laptop running XP this would happen often enough to be a real cause for concern (it once got hot enough in my briefcase that the feet melted off....)
So I changed the system so that it hibernates rather than sleeps on closing the lid.

dosent happen to mine, im running win7pro x64

from past experience, its usually some rogue program/driver causing the problem. the bad news is, its difficult to find out which one.

Is there any way to look at a "history" list or something? Like a list of task by time, one that list what driver or program became active and caused the computer to turn on during sleep? Otherwise it just seems like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
