Control Panel > search Device Manager > Monitors > Properties > Details > Hardware Ids

I googled mine to figure out what it was :)

many thanks for the advice... I seem to have a LPL0AA8 screen and I can't seem to notice the 'grainy screen' that others have talked about? This is my first laptop, so maybe I have it and jsut don't know about it?

I will post some pictures as soon as I find my camera!

    ANOTHER QUESTION THOUGH....

I have connected up my laptop to my HDTV (Toshiba 32wlt66) via displayport to HDMI adapter.... but I am having real problems setting the **** thing up so I get my entire screen on there... it seems to be upscaling the screen badly and also when I play a movie on my laptop, it just shows as a black screen on the LCD TV?

    can anyone please advise?????

Are you using dual display or just the TV? That would cause resolution problems.

If you like the screen, don't go looking for problems.

The biggest problem with grainyness is, people are seeking for a problem they'd never notice :(
If you like your display, great. If your display looks wierd, call Dell to replace it, but don't look for the manufacturer and find things that noone else could see!

By the way, is there a single comparison-pcture of both the LG and the Samsung LCD-display? In the past the LG-Displays were the good ones... in the E6400s the LGs are the good ones... The real grainy ones were the AOUs!

But even if you like your display, go to the Nvidia control panel and adjust the brightness a little bit and the gamma-correction a bit down. That improves most displays (either LED or not).
