M4400 power adaptor always breaks at LED :(

    This is my third power adapter that is doing this. I do not mistreat it or anything, its just on my desk most of the time

    is this happening to anyone else? looks quite dangerous

    Nope - not seen this. I have an M6400 though - and that has a *huge* brick to go with it.

    the brick isnt pulling at the cord or anything. I have a feeling its because the cord goes directly down at the edge of the table where my notebook is situated, and the downward tension causes it to separate over time.

    this is really annoying, its a design flaw.

    no issue here on my Latitude E6400.
    My guess is that Dell has a big batch of miss build PSU plugs.
    I say wait some time (a month?) and change it again.

    Mine also broke so that the cable that identifies the PSU didn't submit the signal. Fixed it with a short wire and glue. It doesn't glow so much anymore but it works again now.
