    Where did you get from?? 7200 IS faster ...does depend on cache and very much on which exact drive you're getting....for instance Seagate tends to be faster than Hitachi ones...But a Seagate 7200 definetly runs faster than a Seagate 5400. Just google for tests on it, easy enough.

    It will run a bit hotter (not much) and use a bit more energy (not an issue if u use it on AC ofcourse.

    That depends on a lot of variables. The 160GB 7200 RPM single platter drives are faster than any available 5400 and 7200 RPM drives, plus they consume less power, make less noise, and run cooler.

    there are a few threads in the upgrade forum i think, which discuss the hdd issue in depth. take a look
