Has anyone else been experiencing the same problem I have with their hard drives? Even though I've changed all my power settings to not power off the hard disk in any circumstances, if I leave the computer for a while I sometimes get back and find that although windows is still running, the hard disk won't spin up and I have to reset the computer at which point everything runs fine.

I've updated the firmware on the hard disk to the latest on Dell's website but am still having the same problem.

Has anyone got any ideas or am I going to have the joy of getting in touch with tech support?

    Many thanks!

sounds like you may have got a faulty hard drive. the current crop of seagates really really suck.

if you have prosupport or NBD support, it should be a joy calling them. they're very good.
