been happily using my m4400 for a few months now but there is one constant thing that bugs me and one new thing that started this morning.

    1. the ac adapter keeps falling out. there is almost no friction there. i have a e6400 for work and it's loose too, but not this loose.

    2. the paint on the speaker grill (right) has started to come off. started to feel tacky and not smooth and started to rub off in that area.

anyone else finding similar issues? fixes for it?

Not sure about 1 but 2 has been reported before on this forum (at least for Dell E6400 machines see here). If you report this to Dell I believe they will replace the component (palm rest or grill itself).

While you're at it, you should probably contact Dell about (1) as well. Sounds like you probably just got a less-than-good AC jack on your motherboard, and I'd say they should replace that for you.
