My motherboard in my M4400 just burned out , ? I have had it one week, while doing something "regular" looking at photos the screen went out and I could smell a burning scent.

I have added 4GB of memory and a new 320 7200 RPM hard drive. Its was running a triple boot with Windows 7, Vista Ultimate and Windows Server 2008 (64 Bit), the Windows Server 2008 (Active Directory & Mail Server) running two Hyper-V virtual machines of Windows Server 2008 one for SharePoint 2007 development and the other for Dynamics CRM Development. (I originally wanted to configure bootable vhd's)

After 3-4 transfers I finally made it to basic Dell support. I don't need software support but question if I should upgrade what I have, I only need hardware support. Dell was prepared to send a tech out to fix the machine this Tuesday, swapping the mobo out. I advised them I am a contractor and I cannot afford issues with this machine after a week and the are suppose to send a brand new machine.

Anyone have any experience with mobo issues on Precisions?

I posted a few days ago that the machine ran hot @ http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=395275
