Thanks to the OP for this !

BTW, has anyone correlated build dates with various problems reported? Mine was built Dec 16th, and the only problem I can relate to is the DVD door coming off it's rails with pressure. I believe what I'm reading, just trying to understand how this could be.

I think the DVD thing is a supplier issue - apparently there's a Toshiba drive and a Panasonic drive. The Toshiba is what both of my systems have, and they both have the tray problem. Another user (blanking on the user name right now) said he had no problems, and the part number he posted I believe was a Panasonic. Dell's sending me a replacement (hopefully a Panasonic) so I should be able to do some 1-on-1 comparison in the near future.

that was me, yeah i have the panasonic. This DVD does have burn issues on older BIOS's though, dont know if that's the same with the Toshiba one?
Doesn't really matter for me 'caus i never really burn discs and right now i have it disabled because of the audio issue anyway:rolleyes:

They don't list them under the downloads, but I found them simply by using their search function. Type in "M4400 A03" and it should come right up.
