Yeah I was on the phone with the rep getting a price quote (long process!) and the call dropped. Waiting for her to call me back now!

All I could get them to do was give me second bus day shipping free, and no charge for Vista Bus 64 (which is bull anyway)...but he said I have 30 days to redeem any coupons that subsequently come out, so I went ahead and did the dirty deed :D Very nice machine....backlit keyboard is way cool..something I never really considered. Fingerprint login like my old Asus...did 3 hours of Sins of Solar Empire last night....seem to run much quieter than my Asus, didn't get very hot.

I need to buy a new workstation in the next couple of days. I'll keep that $250 in mind if I decide on the E6500 or M4400, which is how I'm leaning now. I checked out the W500 at a store yesterday and didn't see anything special about it.

The W500 does have the hybrid graphics and DDR3 memory which is nice. The reason I chose the M4400 is the really nice WUXGA RGB LED screen and the powerful Nvidia FX770 graphics card.

If you get a E6500 price match it with a T500. If you get the M4400 price match it with the W500. Remember to use the visa discount (http://www.lenovo.com/visa) and the promo code (USXHOLIDAY). When configuring the Lenovo for the price quote.

They challange everything on the price quote and it has been a long process thus far. They want everything to be exactly the same, even if the Lenovo is better. For example, if the Lenovo has a 160GB HDD and the Dell has an 80GB HDD then you need to increase the Dell to 160GB. The rep also challanged everything, for example, she claimed the Dell Bluetooth was better than the Lenovo Bluetooth because the Dell one says "Module".

That double what I got...I even waited three days to wait them out...nothing...I'm ok with it though...still a great value for me.

i bought mine in malaysia, and i bought 2 units at once. i bought via small and medium business, and told my rep im evaluating it for further purchase. (was thinking of buying 15 units for my business)

i could have got a bigger discount if i bought them all at once, but he promised me that he'd make up the difference by making bigger discounts for the rest of the orders.

i find dell is really cheap in malaysia, so i always make my purchases there. and delivery time is brilliant. i normally get them under 5 days (my m4400 was delivered in 3 days)

i'll take some pictures of the paint soon and post back. it was just a small part, but after that idiot tech guy mishandled it its much worse now.

cant wait for my replacement. DTS said 10-14 days.

oh, and my sales rep did mention that such large discounts are not available for personal purchases.

i guess if you dont really have a company, make one up, and have it delivered to your office address :p

i think i got lucky with my rep. he dosent seem to like some of the other reps i've spoken to in the past for previous purchases. if he can do it he'll do it, if not he'll tell me what he needs (i.e. purchase of at least 3 units to make the margin)

it seems they are given leeway to discount a certain amount, if they discount any further, they have to justify it to management. thats why i tend to order in batches
