I understand that a lots of programs still have poor support for the M3800 QHD+ ultra res 3200 x 1800 mode. So, I am wondering if QHD+ on the M3800 really usable? I mostly use Photoshop and Premiere and I think Adobe still has not wrote the code to properly support hi-res displays? Should the 3200 x 1800 be too hard to use, can the QHD+ display set to 1920 x 1080? Thanks.

I dont use Photoshop even if I have a pirate-copy of it on my drive, but other softwares that I use, like matlab, codeblockes, ms office, libreoffice, virtualbox, orcad pspice etc, work without any issues.

I use the resolution 3200x1800 with 100 % scale factor, ie. no zooming of UI elements. Sure, things do look tiny but I have a very good eyesight so I have no problem with that. 3200x1800 100% is a real screen estate, multiple windows up at the same time is a joy to use.

Edit: if you do plan to run linux on this one, give ubuntu 14.04 a try. I was not a big fan of the unity interface, in the beginning it looked like a cheap copy of the Mac os x interface, but now with unity version 7 and ubuntu 14.04 it is the best gui I have ever used. In comparisson, the windows UI looks like it's made by kids for kids :D If all the programes that I use worked on linux then I would not even look at windows ever again. Unity now looks and works very professionel, it scales even better than windows.

    Regards, and good luck.

You can, but you probably want to run it at 1600 x 900 instead (so that each "pixel" is displayed by 4 individual pixels, keeping things as sharp as possible).

Another option would be to work on an external FHD monitor.

Lightroom 5 is great at 3200x1800. Lightroom 4 is not so great.
