M3800 power adapter barrel pin slid back?

My workstation won't charge and looking at the barrel jack on the power adapter the center pin seems awfully far back. Measuring the distance (which is kind of hard since the barrel is so small -- I stuck something in, pulled it out, then measured), I found it to be about 5.4mm from the top of the barrel. I.e. like this (drawing not to scale):

Would anyone be willing to measure theirs and see if that's normal?
