I have a vostro 1400 and my left-click is very erratic, sometimes it clicks everything without being touched ,sometimes doesn't work and once in a while its normal. My warranty just ended so I can't send it in. This problem has been going on for about 3 months. Any suggestions on how to fix it or what is causing this problem?
    Thanks

My old Ins 1405 developed the same problem about 14 months in. A friends did the same exact thing. Mine stopped moving up and down all together but still worked, although erratically.

I was not able to find a solution outside of sending it to Dell. Your machine may be different though. Good luck.

Meh I think it's the actual buttons on the mouse circuit board.
I had another laptop that had this problem. Under the 2 plastic mouse buttons are 2 more buttons that are small and metalish which can ware out.
