    1) Can you get the RGB LED option on M2400 or only M4400?

    2) On the Canadian Dell site, it shows up as an option for the M2400 but not the M4400 but that doesn't make sense.

    3) Do the Precision series have Display Port?

    4) is the RGB LED option available on the Latitude series? E6400? They have a Display Port?

    5) Do you get sound from the Display Port? I want to connect the notebook to a LCD monitor sometimes.

    6) Do you take much of a hit with DDR2 RAM? I wish that the Latitude and Precision would have moved to DDR3 RAM like the Studio XPS and XPS models have. Why haven't they? Is it much of a performance hit?

I am comparing the Dells to the Thinkpads currently and appreciate any answers to these questions.

I don't need a gaming notebook but want a good screen. 'Will watch videos (movies, both on DVD and avi) so what res and screen should I pick if I go for one of the Dells?

Most of these Dell models only give you the option of the discrete GPU?

Thanks in advance for any answers/advice/recommendations.

    3) Yes, I believe so.

    4) No, I do not think RGB LED is available on the Latitude series. Could be mistaken though.

    5) No - it's a Montevina chipset issue, not a manufacturer issue.

    6) By most benchmarks, no. Power savings is minimal, if at all existant, and speed difference is also negligible.

The Latitudes all give options for Intel graphics, I believe. The Precisions are only discrete. Keep in mind that with the Thinkpads, you can switch from discrete to integrated in Windows itself, allowing you to save battery or get performance when ever you want.
