After upgrading to Windows 10, the built-in speakers no longer produce sound. Also the audio port in my Dell PRO3X port replicator doesn't produce sound. Changing the audio device doesn't affect things. The headphone jack works OK as long as I select the "Independent (R.T.C.) Headphones (IDT High Definition Audio Codec)". Selecting "Speakers / Headphones" yields only silence.

I completely dismantled the computer and replace the audio/Ethernet/USB daughterboard with a new part. I got everything back together OK - but I still don't have sound from the speakers. The built-in diagnostics do produce speaker sound.

Has anyone else encountered this? Any suggestions or solutions?
