    I agree. From what I've heard and seen, SSDs are what making the big differences now.

    SSD's are the #1 upgrade to improving performance on any computer with a SATA interface. Heck if you feel like spending the money you can even get an IDE/PATA SSD for older machines as well. The first model that springs to mind would be replacing the hard drive on a Thinkpad X41T which uses a 1.8" ZIF HD.
