    The advice from a Dell rep in this discussion indicates that the SATA lines are not connected to the slot and there's no hint in the E6430 User Manual that an mSATA SSD would work in the WWAN slot.

    That Dell link has the picture of an mSATA SSD but the specs say 2.5". Also, an mSATA SSD will work in a 2.5" bay using an adapter (Dell does this for SSD versions of the E7440).
