I have a strange problem. My wireless switch no longer turns off my wireless. I noticed this right after the latest BIOS update, but it could have been going on longer. Around the same time, I replaced the motherboard which of course required a complete dis-assembly. However, I think the wireless switch is connected properly, because the wireless LED light on the palm rest goes on and off as I toggle the switch, so clearly the computer recognizes when I toggle it. At least partially.

The symptom is that even though I disable the wireless switch, the wireless internet connection stays active. Blue Tooth gets disabled when I toggle the switch off, and the Wifi LED indicator turns off too. But not my Wifi traffic.

Something else to note is that I use a full height wireless card placed in the WWAN slot. In the BIOS, I do have it set to enable or disable the WWAN port as I toggle the switch.

So I'm thinking, maybe it's something with the BIOS update, or I did something wrong when I replaced the motherboard?

    Hi,

If possible you may connect a half-height card and check the functionality. Please set the BIOS to defaults and also, check if there are any errors on wireless card device in the Device Manager.

You may also check and confirm the connections once again. Please find below, the link for the service manual for Latitude E6420, you may refer to the same if required.
