I recently purchased the Latitude E6400 and was wondering if there is a way to set up the fingerprint reader to work for online websites such as gmail etc. It works to log in but can it also work for other things too? Thanks.

I don't have the finger print reader... but if you don't have a reply until Monday.. the answer it probably no one knows... so take it as a no, to your question.

On the E6400 you can registered web form using the "Embassy Security Center" has something call "Internet and Application passwords". To get there,

Push Fn+F7 (Start DCP) > Security Manager > Manage Security > Logins and Password > Click Setting (It will now starts Embassy Security Center) > Click "passwords" tab. It might take a few seconds to load! Be Patient

or just goto start menu DCP > and Security Manager > Advanced to start Embassy Security Center.

Ps, you must have already enroll your fingerprints in order to activate this service.

I have only seen this functionality in UPEK Security Suite. I would use that if it had any control over the pre-boot security. Much more stable too!
