So I am interested in a high end E5570 (i7, 16GBRAM, 512GB SSD); I have an older E6520, and this seems like the most direct upgrade Dell offers, since the E6540 quietly hasn't been upgraded in a long time.

    Two questions:
The product page states that Thunderbolt 3 is coming "Winter 2016". Does anyone know whether that means February / March of this year, or November / December? I asked a chat agent, who obviously had no idea - after avoiding the question for a bit, he fell back on the safe answer that it was by the end of the year. But that seems a little crazy, given the chipset supports it, the XPS line already has it, and the Precision models (7510 at least) should have it by the end of the month - "January 2016". Does firm information exist? A number of features have target times like that, but Winter is ambiguous due to being split by a year end.

Does anyone know if it is possible to have two hard drives inside? When the laptop was first released, there was a build option for this; now there is not. Also, all of the build options I can find only include an M2 SSD - no PCIe or 2.5" SATA options in the build that I can access from the US. I have seen the discussion of the E5470, which fairly clearly indicate that it can't have two drives without custom mounting that no one has tried yet, but this laptop is a little bit bigger, and I haven't seen a clear indication for it.

Appreciate any information that can improve my planning. I am out of the warranty period on my current laptop, and while it is still running acceptably, upgrade time is coming quickly.

To answer part of my own question. Based on this post, it is not possible to get two hard drives in without some sort of custom mounting, certainly not a PCIe and 2.5" Sata at the same time. The Thunderbolt 3 question still stands.

One additional question: Does it support HDMI 2.0? I want to be able to drive a 4K external monitor at 60Hz. Not for gaming, just to get the extra real estate. Can't find that on Dell's page anywhere.

I *think* that there's enough room for an mSATA and a PCle, but that's unconfirmed. I have the e5570.
