    Hello everyone,

Normally does the 74xx have a bigger keyboard and/or a bigger trackpad than the 73xx?

The one detail I noticed the most is the bezel is much thinner on the 73xx, I hadnt actually noticed much about the touchpad/keyboard but if you dont get an answer by monday ill take a look at my inventory and let you know.

Ok, thanks for your help. In 2019 the bezel on the 7300 is the same as on the 7400.

I think you will find that the keyboard on the 73xx is about 95% of full size which, in my experience, doesn't impair usability.

I work with a lot of 7490 and 7390 laptops, and I agree with the above. They are likely the same keyboard to keep the costs down but I would have to check myself to avoid misinformation.

Ok, thanks. So if the 74xx has the same keyboard size, same trackpad size, same battery size, no dedicated graphic card.. the largest dimensions and weight of the 74xx has almost no advantages, right? Just a screen a little bit bigger..

and the keyboard on the 74xx is full size?

Well they do have differences in terms of hardware. 73xx goes with LPDDR3 at 16gb while 74xx goes with DDR4 at 32gb max. And DDR3 with DDR4 have a lot of bandwidth difference in terms of performance.

What I would love to see is a 74xx with the battery of 7300 and without having more ports removed. I strongly believe lenovo and dell are overdoing it without gaining much in terms of size/weight. What we need is better batteries and screen and not smaller and more soldered laptops.

In any case in 2019 the 7300 and the 7400 have the same hardware.. even if the 7400 has a bigger case. I would liked to see a bigger trackpad/keyboard and a bigger battery in the 7400..

If you are referring to the new 7400 then the manual says the keyboard is full size with a key pitch (center-center measurement of 19.05mm. Also the touchpad is 99.5mm x 53mm.

And, for comparison, for the new 7300 the manual says the keyboard is full size but the key pitch is 18.05mm (so it isn't full size but 94.75% of full size) and the touchpad is 99.5mm x 53mm (ie the same as the 7400).

so the 7400 has larger keys (better keyboard) than the 7300, right?
