Hi, my backup laptop recently started to develop a problem with the screen and I'm not sure where to start looking. When I boot up the screen will flash on and off. When it does get a picture everything is pixelated and unreadable. It's locked up on me too which of course is very frustrating. Am I looking at a video card problem, corrupted drivers or a memory problem? If I pop the battery out and reboot it usually straightens itself out. Recommendations please?

Probably a video card problem. Have you tried hooking it up to an external monitor?

Good point. Haven't tried that yet. Next time I boot up and have that problem I'll plug in an external monitor and see if it carries over.
